KAYHAN in its editorial has strongly criticized Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for praising Cyrus and playing up his Human Rights Charter of Cyrus as a model for promoting the world order. Although the Cyprus Cylinder is a precious legacy, we have a much valuable source which is Quran. So if the president seeks to present a model to the world, his model should be based on the Islamic teachings, because Islam presents a perfect model for human being and there is no need to complete it with humanistic ideas.
RESALAT in its editorial elaborates on the meaning of culture based on the model proposed by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution in his meeting with the members of the Assembly of Experts. The Supreme Leader in the meeting said culture is more important than economic and political issues. The writer lists the meanings of culture as meant by the Leader: 1- Culture means to promote hard work in the society to boost domestic production 2- Culture means to take responsibility for the future events 3- Culture means to responsibly preserve the Islamic Revolution ideals and Imam Khomeini’s teachings 4- Culture means the promotion of national unity and Islamic solidarity 5- Culture means promoting a simple life style.
ARMAN in an article has commented on the 20-year Out-Look Plan. The plan should be completely implemented otherwise its objectives will not be realized. The writer says over the past years we have witnessed that some officials do not properly implement the ratified plans and seek to justify their actions, and the supervisory bodies do not apply their monitoring tools appropriately in this regard. The continuation of this trend is not in line with the national interests. The government has announced that it does not accept changes to the Fifth Development Plan, putting the country into the danger of being run without any plan or strategy. Ahmadinejad’s administration says as these plans have been proposed by the former administrations, they could not be implemented. The administration should either implement the development plans or present its proposals for a revision of the plans, and should not put the executive affairs of the country on hold for an indefinite period.
EBTEKAR in its editorial writes that the president as the second highest-ranking official of the country should abide by the Constitution and should not make attempts to marginalize the Majlis. According to the Constitution, the Majlis has oversight over all organs and can conduct probe into various issues. The Majlis also represents all Iranian groups and is the symbol of national unity. The writer says when the Ahmadinejad government does not accept the supervisory role of Majlis it should declare its stance on the Guardian Council (as another supervisory body) as well.
