TEHRAN – A collection of photos highlighting the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (AS), the first Imam of the Shia, located in the Iraqi city of Najaf, will open in Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Center on Friday.

The photos taken by Iranian photographer Mohammad Khoshru depict the beauty of the shrine, its architectural design, its entrance door, its windows, and the tile works decorated with Persian calligraphy, the Persian service of Honaronline reported on Wednesday.

Thirty four large-sized photos have been selected to be showcased at the exhibit. The photos are not for sale.

In addition, several photos have also been selected for the exhibition from Khoshru’s book “Prostration of Experts”, which contains pictures of some Iraqi religious sites.

The exhibit will be running until July 3 at the Niavaran Cultural Center.

The collection is scheduled to be showcased in another exhibition at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute from July 6 to 22.
