TEHRAN - Iran’s missile program scheduled for the current year will definitely be implemented, Deputy Commander of Iran’s Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri has said.

“As a general rule, the armed forces exercises are planned in advance for a whole year and they are sure to be carried out in due time,” the Tasnim news agency quoted Jazayeri as saying on Monday.

His remarks come at a time when controversy is high over the reason behind a halt to Iran’s missile tests.

While there are speculations that the halt is in line with Iran’s recent nuclear deal with world powers, Iranian diplomats and military officials keep denying any link between the two.
