Supreme Leader’s comments on knowledge published in English

TEHRAN – A collection of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s comments and guidelines on science, technology and research has recently been published in a book entitled “The Bliss of Knowledge”.
The book, which is in English, will be unveiled at the 28th Moscow International Book Fair that will be held from September 2 to 6.

A Persian edition of “The Bliss of Knowledge” was released by the Islamic Revolution Publications in 2011.


Tehran museum to unveil Farshchian’s new paintings

TEHRAN – Two works by Iranian master miniaturist Mahmud Farshchian will be unveiled at the Farshchian Museum of Tehran’s Sadabad Cultural Historical Complex on September 6.

Farshchian is scheduled to attend the unveiling ceremony of the works entitled “The Evening of the Captives” and “The Forth Heaven”.

Farshchian’s masterpieces have been hosted by numerous museums and exhibitions worldwide.


Georgian filmfest to screen “Mazar-i-Sharif”

TEHRAN – Iranian filmmaker Abdolhassan Barzideh’s “Mazar-i-Sharif” will go on screen at the 10th Batumi International Art House Film Festival, which will be held in the Georgian city from September 13 to 20.

The film tells the story of the murder of some Iranian diplomats and a journalist in the Afghan city in 1998.


Copies of Leader’s message to Western youth distributed at Beijing book fair

TEHRAN – Copies of the message that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei sent to the youth in Europe and North America on January 21, 2015 were distributed by Iran at the 22nd Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), which was held from August 26 to 29.

Iran also offered a variety of books in the different fields of art, literature, religion and Iranian studies at the BIBF.

“Pictures of Iran”, a book containing photos of Iran’s tourist attractions, was introduced on the closing day of the event.


Iranian artists condemn ISIL destruction of Palmyra

TEHRAN – A large group of Iranian artists has condemned the destruction of a Roman temple by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra in a statement published on Persian news websites on Sunday.

The statement was signed with Aidin Aghdashlu, Parviz Tanavoli, Kurosh Shishegaran, Kamran Adl, Kambiz Derambakhsh, Alfred Yaghubzadeh, Gizella varga Sinai, Akbar Alami, Nader Mashayekhi, Behruz Baqai, Jamshid Bayrami, Hassan Majuni, Davud Shahidi, Hadi Heidari and many other artists.


“Crow’s Trip” appears in Spanish

TEHRAN – A Spanish version of Iranian children’s book writer Babak Saberi’s “The Crow’s Trip” (“El viaje del cuervo”) has been published by Iran’s El Faro Children and Young Adults Group.

The book illustrated by Shabnam Chaichian is about a crow that starts a journey with a close friend.

Affiliated with the Oriental Cultural Foundation, El Faro has published over 50 books by Iranian authors in Spanish and Portuguese.
