Iran, Austria to collaborate on interreligious studies

TEHRAN – Iran and Austria signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Tehran’s Sadabad Cultural Historical Complex on Tuesday to collaborate on interreligious studies.

The MOU was signed by Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Director Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman and Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz.

Based on the agreement the two countries will collaborate in organizing joint seminars and conferences.


Iranian movies to compete in San Francisco festival

TEHRAN – Several Iranian movies will compete during the 8th Iranian Film Festival of San Francisco, which will be held from September 26 to 27.

A vast variety of films, including “Taboo” directed by Khosro Masumi, “Today” by Reza Mirkarimi, “Crazy Castle” by Abolhassan Davudi and “I Want to Be a King” by Mehdi Ganji, will be screened at the event.


TMCA to host “Comprehensible Mentality” exhibit

TEHRAN – A wide collection of paintings by world-renowned contemporary artists will go on display in an exhibition at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) from September 15 to November 6.

The exhibit entitled “Comprehensible Mentality” will showcase works by Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Mark Rothko, Adolph Gottlieb and dozens of other august artists.


Iran, Austria sign MOU on archaeological collaboration

TEHRAN – Iran’s Research Institute for Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT) and the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Osterreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften – OAW) have signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of archaeological studies.

The MOU was signed by RICHT Director Mohammad Beheshti and OAW President Anton Zeilinger in Tehran on Wednesday.


Iranian, Finnish sculptors to hold seminar in Tehran

TEHRAN -- A number of Iranian and Finnish artists will come together at the University of Tehran on September 12 to attend a seminar on sculpture.

The seminar organized under the auspices of the Finnish Embassy and the Finland-Iran Friendship Association will commemorate Finnish artist Eila Hiltunen, who created the Sibelius Monument dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865–1957).
