TEHRAN – A high-ranking delegation from the Expediency Council headed by Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel left for Beijing late Sunday.

Expediency Council Deputy Secretary in Information, Research and International Affairs Ali Rezaei said the delegation comprises a number of secretaries of expert committees, members and officials from the council as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, IRNA reported.

Noting that this visit comes at the official invitation of the Chinese government, he added the Iranian delegation is scheduled to meet a number of Chinese political figures and hold talks on various bilateral issues.

He said that the delegation will also visit economic, industrial and cultural centers in Beijing and hold talks with Chinese economic officials and businesspersons on promoting trade relations and joint cooperation.
