TEHRAN – The Iranian foreign minister has said it is expected that unfounded accusations against Iran come to an end now that Tehran and major powers have struck a deal on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.

“It is expected that after the end of the talks the long list of unfounded accusations about non-peaceful dimensions of Iran’s nuclear program will be wrapped up,” Mohammad Javad Zarif said during a meeting International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano in Tehran on Sunday.

Iran has developed “good” and “active” cooperation with the IAEA on the path of making the country’s nuclear program transparent over the past years, he explained, noting that Iran is determined to continue cooperating with the UN watchdog body.

Amano described the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal, as a test of global diplomacy.

He said that his trip to Iran has been in line with boosting bilateral cooperation.

On July, Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) finalized the text of the JCPOA in Vienna.

The IAEA director held a separate meeting with Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) director Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday in which they discussed the “roadmap” agreement which is intended to wrap up probe into Iran’s past nuclear activities by mid-December.
