TEHRAN – A group of Iranian photographers is displaying photos of India in a joint exhibition now underway at Tehran’s Mehrva Gallery.

The photos have been taken during trips to India by Majid Saeidi, Mohammadreza Mandani, Ruzbeh Ruzbahani, Sahar Fadaian, Arash Hamidi and Mahmudreza Nurbakhsh for the exhibition entitled “InDia”.

“The geography of India is too vast to be shown only through the eyes of one individual photographer and that is why Ruzbeh and I decided to hold this joint exhibit,” Mandani told the Persian service of ISNA on Friday.

“The good point about this exhibit is that each photographer has taken the photos through his/her own eyes with their personal style of photography. For example I have mostly concentrated on form and color, while Fadaian has focused on people from certain walks of life and has depicted the bitter side of life,” he added.

“We actually intend for the visitors to get a general image of India through the eyes of several photographers with different tastes,” he said.

Mandani expressed his hope to hold more exhibits displaying photos of photographers taken in separate trips at one single location in the future.

The exhibit will be running until November 9 at the gallery which can be found at 38 South Aban St. off Karim Khan Ave.
