TEHRAN - The 34th Fajr International Film Festival plans to put photos of Iranian 1969 drama “The Cow” and the 1978 French documentary on Iran “The Lovers’ Wind” on display during an exhibition.

“The Cow” directed by Dariush Mehrjui is about Masht Hassan, who owns the only cow in a remote and desolate village.

Starring Ezzatollah Entezami, Ali Nasirian and Jamshid Mashayekhi, the film won the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) Prize at the Venice Film Festival in 1971. It was the first award that Iranian cinema received in an international event.

“The Lovers’ Wind” by French filmmaker and producer Albert Lamorisse centers on the natural attractions of Iran. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature just months before the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Born in 1922 in Paris, Lamorisse died in a helicopter crash while filming the documentary in 1970.

Restored editions of both films will also go on screen on the sidelines of the festival, which will be held at Tehran’s Charsu Cinema Complex from April 20 to 25.
