TEHRAN -- The Tehran Symphony Orchestra under the baton of maestro Ali Rahbari will perform Hossein Alizadeh’s 1983 hit “Neynava” at the closing ceremony of Shanghai Spring International Music Festival.

The orchestra will also be performing Russian composer Igor Stravinsky’s “Firebird” and French composer Hector Berlioz’s “Symphony Fantastique” at the closing concert, Rahbari told the Persian service of ISNA on Tuesday.

The Shanghai Spring International Music Festival will be held from April 28 to May 18, hosting musicians from 10 different countries including the United States, Germany, Britain, Switzerland and South Korea.

The Tehran Symphony Orchestra opened the 31st Fajr International Music Festival with a performance of Alizadeh’s “Neynava” in February 2016.

Ali Rahbari had resigned as the conductor and music director of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra over some differences in March; however, he returned to his job after reaching an agreement with Iranian cultural officials in early April.

According to Rahbari, the support offered by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has given a spiritual boost to the orchestra.
