Iran’s Mahjoub claims silver in Judo World Cup

The Iranian -100kg weight class, lost to Levan Zhorzholiani from Georgia in the final game and claimed the silver.
Mahjoub defeated Akzhol Medetov from Kazakhstan, Egyptian Ramadan Darwish, Fyyaz Yazici from Turkey and Ukraine’s Artem Bloshenko in the competition.
Host Azerbaijan claimed the championship title with two gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
Russia finished in second place, bagging one gold, one silver and four bronze medals and Egypt came third with one gold and one bronze medal.
Iran finished in ninth place taking just one silver.
The 2011 Judo World Cup brought a total of 128 athletes from 25 countries together.
