Iran unveiled its first national dual-fueled diesel engine on Monday, placing the country among the ten countries worldwide holding this technology, the IRNA news agency reported.

The engine is burning 80 percent gas and 20 percent gas oil as fuel, the report added.

The engine has been designed and manufactured by Iranian experts within 18 months. Once the production line of the engine comes on stream, the country will save some 300 million dollars annually.
