TEHRAN -- Free courses for learning the Persian language offered at the school of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Berlin gathered together Iranians living in different German cities.
At the beginning of the Iranian school year in October, the school began general courses for promoting the Persian language and encouraging Iranian residents of Germany to learn the Persian language and culture free of charge.
Participants of different ages having different occupations formed a small Persian society at the courses, the Persian service of IRNA reported.
The improvement of relations among Iranians in Germany leads to friendship among them, forming a society in which the members have a better understanding of each others’ problems.
“There are private schools in Berlin which have courses on Persian language but their methods are very old. However, this school benefits from modern educational approaches,” the mother of one of the students in one of the courses told the reporter of the Persian service of IRNA.
Another woman whose child attended the course said that she along with five other families have enrolled their children in the courses to introduce Persian culture, rituals and national and religious occasions alongside language.
“I began the project with several concerns since I do need support and continuity for success,” the young head of school Musa Heydari told the reporter of IRNA.
He said that he immediately began the courses after he received the approval of the Iranian ambassador to Berlin Alireza Sheykh-Attar for holding the courses free of charge.
“During the first week over 100 students applied for the classes which was unexpected and their enthusiasm continues up to now,” he said.
Three classes are dedicated to first grade and the other grades have one class each. Plans are for educating 200 students over the upcoming school year, he concluded.
