TEHRAN – The Letter of Imam Ali (AS) written to his famous companion Malik al-Ashtar selected from the Nahj-ul-Balagha of Imam Ali (AS) will be translated into 12 languages.

 

The letter will be rendered into French, English, Portuguese, German, Swedish, Uzbek and several more, Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) official in charge Bahman Akbari told the Persian service of IRNA on Sunday.

 

Malik al-Ashtar was the head of the Bani Nakhaei clan. He was a faithful disciple of Imam Ali (AS). He was a brave warrior and had acted as Commander-in-Chief of the armies of Imam Ali (AS).

 

The letter has previously been translated into Russian, Italian, Malay and Tagalog, Akbari added.

 

Nahj-ul-Balagha of Imam Ali (AS) was first compiled by Sharif Radi known in Persian as Seyyed Razi, who divided the work into three sections containing the speeches, letters, and short sayings of Imam Ali (AS).

 

So far, the book has been translated into 20 languages. A complete French version of the Nahj-ul-Balagha of Imam Ali (AS) translated by French Muslim lady Haseena Ahmad Bin Abdulrahman was unveiled at the Nahj-ul-Balagha International Foundation in Qom in 2010.
