Ali Karimi joins Dinamo Zagreb on a long term contract
Croatian champion Dinamo Zagreb has announced the signing of Iranian midfielder Ali Karimi from Sepahan on a five-year contract on Friday.
The 22-year old player successfully passed the medical and will wear the number 7 jersey for the Croatian giants.
“I am really happy to be here. I know a lot about Dinamo Zagreb and Croatian football. Dinamo is the top club in Croatia, they are Champions and they are part of the UEFA group stage competition every season. Of course, this is an honor for me. There is no doubt that there is a huge competition in the club, but I will do my best,” Karimi told the club’s official website.
“Dinamo scouted this talented player even before I came to the club and of course this is a great thing for the club. Karimi should bring us an additional quality to our midfield, he is a tough player and he is quite tall. We have a lot of quality midfielders and he will need to fight for his position,” head coach Zlatko Kranjcar commented Karimi's signing.
Dinamo Zagreb is the defending champion of Croatian league and will play in the second round of UEFA Champions League next season.
Karimi started his career in 2010 as a youth with Sepahan.
