Iranian international outside hitter Mojtaba Mirzajanpour says that the FIVB World League experience can help Iran at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

“We are at our best both from a physical and mental point of view. We had a decent performance at FIVB World League despite not qualifying for the final round. I think playing at the competition in recent years could help us at Olympics,” Mirzajanpour said.

“The Olympics is the pinnacle that every player wants to reach. The Olympics is the biggest competition for the best athletes from all around the world who want to present their best performances. We’re not exception as we will go there to make Iranian fans happy,” he added.

Iran has been pitted against London 2012 gold medalist Russia, World Championship 2014 winner Poland, Argentina, Cuba and Egypt in Pool B of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The Rio 2016 Olympic Games men’s volleyball tournament runs from August 6 until August 20.
