Iran beats Nepal, Maldives at AVC Qualification Tournament

Iran defeated Nepal and the Maldives at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship Qualification Tournament Asian Central Zone on Sunday.


Iran beat the Maldives in straight sets (25-4, 25-12, 25-15). Majda Cicic’s girls on Saturday had defeated Nepal (25-12, 25-12, 25-11) at Youth Centre Indoor Stadium.

Iran qualified for the next round due to take place later next year.

India was initially chosen as the host country for the tournament. However, due to internal problems with the Volleyball Federation of India, the AVC decided to shift the competition venue from India to Maldives.
