TEHRAN – The Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) of Iran has announced the number of scheduled and chartered flights during Noruz, the Iranian New Year holidays falling on March 21 to April 1.

The organization has issued permits for 1,430 domestic and foreign chartered flights during Noruz, the CAO’s public relations director Reza Jafarzadeh was quoted as saying by the organization’s official website.

“Up to now, the airlines have received 392 permits for their chartered flights and 9,663 ones for scheduled flights across Iran as well as 546 permits for chartered flights and 1,412 ones for scheduled flights to foreign countries,” he said.

Meanwhile, 498 permits for chartered flights and 1,543 ones for scheduled flights have been issued specially for Noruz holidays, he added.
