Persepolis outclass Zob Ahan to move four points clear

Persepolis football team earned a brilliant 4-0 victory over Zob Ahan in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.

Ali Alipour opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, scoring his seventh goal in the season.

Kamal Kamyabinia extended Persepolis’s lead in the 35th minute.

Morteza Tabrizi could have scored in the 40th minute from penalty spot but failed to convert his penalty kick.

Godwin Mensha scored the third goal in the 70th minute and Farshad Ahmadzadeh, who came off the bench, scored with a header in the 79th minute.

“I am very happy for this big win. We scored four goals but we could have scored more goals. We showed the beautiful tactics in the match against Zob Ahan,” Branko Ivankovicsaid in the post match news conference.

Elsewhere, Pars Jonoubi were held to a 0-0 draw by Naft Tehran,  Siahjamegan lost to Padideh 2-0 and Sant Naft drew 1-1 with Tractor Sazi.

Persepolis moved clear top of the table with four points.
