Diplomat attends counterterrorism meeting in Dushanbe

TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gholam-Hossein Dehqani has participated in an international conference hosted by the Tajik government on ways to fight terrorism and prevent extremism.

Dehqani delivered a speech at the two-day conference entitled “Countering Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism”, which concluded in the Tajik capital Dushanbe on Friday, Tasnim reported. 

In his speech, he called for closer international cooperation to fight against the phenomenon.

The conference was organized by the government of Tajikistan in cooperation with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the United Nations, and the European Union.
