$4.7m allocated to 6,500 breadwinner women

TEHRAN – An amount of 200 billion rials (around $4.7 million) has been allocated to 6,500 breadwinner women, Soraya Shareqi, general director for women’s and family affairs department of Tehran Governorate said in a press conference here on Monday.

Allocation of subsidies for female entrepreneurs applying for participation in domestic exhibitions, training more than 8,000 members of the NGOs and vulnerable women are among the most important measures made by women affairs department of Tehran Governorate, Mehr news agency quoted her as saying.

Currently the presence of women in management level is impressive and a number of five general managers, two deputy general managers and two prefects are active in Tehran Province, she announced.

Women's self-employed shopping centers, in all of the cities of Tehran Province and launching the website of hamibanoo.ir supporting 800 entrepreneur women is among the achievement of the governorate, Shareqi said.

Female prisoners and women who enjoy supporting social services are among the users of hamibanoo.ir, she stated.

Setting up women's parks in all cities of Tehran Province is another important achievement in the women's field Shareqi said.
