February 13, 2019

TEHRAN – President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that Iran is always ready to hold negotiations with other countries based on mutual respect but will not give in to pressure and bullying.

Speaking at a cabinet session, Rouhani said the Iranian people would never surrender to the enemy as they know it would lead to compromising on “our dignity, independence and identity.”

The president stressed that the Iranian nation defended the country’s territorial integrity during the eight years of war, started by Iraq in 1980.

He also called for unity against the enemy, saying, “All of us should feel that we are in a war situation.”
