Iran to host seminar on promoting moral values

TEHRAN - An international conference titled "Ethical Movements of the Changing World" will be held in Tehran and Qom on May 20-21. Leading scholars and sociologists from different countries, including Brazil, Lebanon, Morocco, Georgia, Qatar, Iraq and possibly Russia, will participate in the event.
Hojat al-Islam Dr. Mohammad Reza Zibaei Nejad, director of the Women and Family Research Institute, told a press conference hosted by the Mehr news agency on Tuesday that the conference will focus on preventing dangers that threaten “identity and moral values”.
Emphasizing the importance of understanding the challenges facing families in today's world, Zibaei Nejad said the purpose behind the conference is to explore ways to promote moral values.
Various topics related to theology, history, civilization, social policies, and ethical analyses will also feature at the conference, the cleric remarked. He added that the goal of the conference is to cultivate a resilient generation committed to principles and values.
It is also necessary that policymakers empower families to uphold moral values and draw up plans against threats that weaken family bonds, the director of the Women and Family Research Institute suggested.
