Nomadic women's handicrafts on path of electronic market
TEHRAN--National Post Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran is helping to market and sell products produced by nomadic women by creating electronic pages.
Hanieh Shivazad, the advisor to the CEO of National Post Company for women and family affairs, announced plans to set up special offices to receive the handicraft items of the nomadic community, especially women, Miras Aria reported.
Speaking on the sidelines of a visit to two Gonbadi women's stores active in electronic business on Sunday, she said that nomadic women are skilled and active artisans in the community, and their handicrafts boast pristine potentials for being offered to the market.
Shivazad considered the sale of handicrafts to be one of the most important concerns of nomadic women and added that from now on, they can send their handicrafts to all over the country with the help of the post office.
She also said: “In order to fulfill its program, the Post Company has also issued 5,000 postal code cards for the country's nomadic community to facilitate the receipt and sending of postal items and other services they need.”
Shivazad announced the follow-ups to the signing of a joint Memorandum of Understanding with some banks and financial institutions and the Post Company to provide low-interest loans to women active in the field of e-business.
She added that the signing of the MoU will be like a chain that will greatly contribute to the growth of women's e-businesses and the provision of better postal services to the target groups.
During the visit, Mehdi Rajablou, head of Gonbad-e Kavous Post Office, announced: “A total of 650 e-businesses are active in this city of 400,000 people. A significant portion of these stores are in the field of clothing and related to women.”
Celebrating women active in electronic businesses and visiting the UNESCO-listed Gonbad-e Qabus tower, the tallest all-brick building in the world, were other plans for Shivazad's trip to Gonbad-e Kavous city.
