ISFAHAN Iranian Labor House and the Geneva-based International Labor Organization (ILO) opened a two-day training event here on Wednesday on the international labor standards.
Head of ILO New Delhi Office for South Asia S. Oberai, ILO experts E. Siva and D.P. Naidove are taking part in the event.
The workshop's agenda is to help Iranian labor officials and the ILO officials exchange views about Iran's labor policy and the international labor standards as well as globalization.
Head of Iranian Labor Council Hassan Sadeqi appreciated the books published by Naidove in the field of globalization and said globalization is not something new and many countries have succeeded in benefiting from globalization.
Sadeqi said Iran will also follow the process of globalization, but the Iranian work force has objections to it fearing from the globalization's negative impact on social justice.
Deputy Executive Director of Isfahan Labor House, Shakeri, said Isfahan is a major industrial hub in Iran.
He said Isfahan foundry, Mobarakeh Steel Mills, petrochemical plant and poly-acrylic plants are situated in Isfahan and 40 percent of the textile industry is also located in Isfahan.
Shakeri said Isfahan Labor House has 20,000 members and over 35,000 retired workers.
