Army to Deploy Mobile Brigade in Eastern Border Regions

            BIRJAND, Khorasan Province  The Army Commander Major General Mohammad Salimi said here on Monday that Nabi-e Akram' Mobile Brigade of the army will be deployed to the border regions of Khorasan, Sistan-Baluchestan.
Speaking to IRNA, the general said that the deployment is aimed at providing greater security in the area.
He added the forces would be deployed at a distance of 20 kilometers from the borders and 150 kilometers along the borders.
The general said the brigade would conduct air and land patrols and if necessary would get involved in operations to help the Law Enforcement Forces (LEF).
Parts of the regions close to the country's eastern borders have been made insecure in the past few months by gangs of smugglers and bandits active in the region.
