TEHRAN Lebanese Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Hassan Mansour here on Sunday extended an invitation on behalf of the President of Lebanese National Assembly Nabih Berri to Majlis Speaker Hojjatoleslam Mahdi Karrubi to visit Lebanon.

In the meeting, Karrubi expressed pleasure with the growing trend in bilateral ties and said Iran is fully prepared to promote its relations with Lebanon in all political, economic, cultural and parliamentary fields.

Karrubi said the expansion of parliamentary relations can be a big step toward strengthening and deepening bilateral ties. He thanked for the invitation from his Lebanese counterpart and expressed hope that the visit will be made at an appropriate time.

Observing that the issue of Palestine is deeply rooted in the minds of the statesmen of the Islamic Republic of Iran , Karrubi stressed that Tehran is fully prepared to hold the Palestine conference in a very splendid manner in the next few months. He expressed hope that the conference would be able to mobilize the Islamic countries to restore the rights of the oppressed and suffering people of Palestine.

For his part, the Lebanese ambassador welcomed the initiative by Iran to hold the conference and thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its principled positions on the issue of Palestine.

He said Lebanon is eager to expand its cooperation with Iran and expressed hope that with more exchange of visits between the officials of the two countries, bilateral ties would deepen in all fields.
