TEHRAN Azerbaijan is considering buying some two billion cubic meters of natural gas each year from Iran, a non-official Azeri news agency Thursday cited the country's Prime Minister Artor Rasizadhe as saying.

The agency quoted the PM as saying that talks were under way with Iranian officials over a deal in this effect.

The purchased gas will be transferred through either Astara or Nakhichivan routes to Azerbaijan, it said.
