TEHRAN The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Sunday denied an IRNA report on Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi's contact with an official in charge of Taleban Foreign Ministry, Maulvi Wakil Ahmed Mutawakil.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoted Afghan sources in Islamabad as saying that Kharrazi contacted Mutawakil on Friday night and informed him about the closure of the Iranian Consulate and repatriation of its staff.

A Foreign Ministry statement said that no contact has been made by Iranian Foreign Ministry and that the report is sheer lie.
