DHAKA More than 200 Dhaka-based reporters Saturday took to the streets calling for an end to attacks on journalists which had left seven dead in as many years. The reporters, working for both local and foreign media, demanded they be allowed to carry out their jobs, free from intimidation, like any other professional. "The press now is more transparent and enjoys maximum freedom ... this had led to attacks on journalists by groups with vested interests, who feel threatened," Dhaka's Reporters Unity President Anwarul Huq told AFP after the march.
