TEHRAN As far the support for the freedom-loving nations are concerned, Iran would continue the path of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini, said the Lebanese prominent Muslim scholar Allameh Seyed Mohammad Fazlullah on Friday.

Speaking in the Friday prayer ceremony of the southern Beirut, he elaborated on the late Imam Khomeini on the occasion of his departure anniversary and said Imam Khomeini was one of the peerless leaders of the Islamic world.

He said, "Paying tribute to the memory of this prominent cleric of the Muslim world encourages the Muslims to shoulder the heavy mission of supporting the rights of the defenseless Palestinian people."

He continued that the Palestinian issue is now the most important issue in the Muslim world.

He said Imam Khomeini had stood fast against the global arrogance and the big powers and toppled the corrupt Pahlavi regime and replaced it by an Islamic system.

He said Imam Khomeini was granting support to Muslims in any part of the world fighting for their freedom. He gave his support for the Palestinians and stressed the liberation of the Palestinians occupied lands.

Fazlullah also praised the Palestinian movement of Intifada which has been resisting against the Israeli pressures and massacres of the innocent Palestinians.

He lashed out at the United States, which he said is continuing its support for the Zionist regime.

Allameh Fazlullah underlined Intifada as the sole way to liberation for Palestinians. Commenting on the Palestinian issue on April 20, Fazlullah said the resistance by the Palestinians against the Zionists has made insecure the situation in Palestine for the Jewish settlers.
