Ahadi Beats Kuwaiti Pugilist to Meet Thai

TEHRAN On the first day of Thailand-based international bouts of "Kingdom Cup", the Iranian boxers won one fight and lost in another.

In 54kg, Akbar Ahadi from Iran defeated a Kuwaiti boxers in the first round to meet his Thai rival in the next bout.

During four rounds of punching, the Iranian 71kg pugilist Ramin Haddadian lost to his Thai opponent.

According to IRNA, a number of 21 countries of the world have participated in the contests underway in Bangkok.

The Iranian team comprises 5 boxers and 4 officials.

Reza Qassemi, the Iranian 63kg boxer, participating in the international boxing event in Thailand, "Kingdom Cup", was sidelined after losing to his Thai rival.

In his bout held in Bangkok on Monday, Qassemi was defeated on points, IRNA reported.

A number of 135 pugilists from 21 countries have participated in the international contests. Iran comprises 5 boxers.
