TEHRAN The national gymnasts and coaches of Iran writing a letter to IRNA in protest to the performance of Gymnastics Federation's officials, gave up and quit the training camp.

A part of the letter reads, "We the coaches and national players hereby express our dissatisfaction with the function of Iranian Gymnastics Federation's authorities and cordially request the sports community, vice president and head of Physical Education Organization (PEO) to help us in this regard."

We call on a committee to investigate the 6-month performance of the current gymnastics officials before this field of sport faces greater loss, says the letter in another part.

The players and coaches have warned that they will avoid resuming the warm-up sessions -- arranged for preparing the team for participation in 2002 Asian Games in Pusan, South Korea -- until the committee studies the issue and makes its decision.

The letter has been signed by Mahmoud Arab, Hadi Qassemi, Mahan Bajarang, Amir-Hossein Haqiqi, Arman Bakhtiarian, and Gholamreza Alizadeh as the national players as well as Mohammad Azarpay (head coach), Shahrokh Nour, Hossein Taherkhani, and Reza Kheirkhah (coaches).

Talking to IRNA, Nour revealed, "We have faced great problems regarding lack of facilities and the unnecessary interference of the federation's officials in the affairs of team and coaches."
