TEHRAN The expansion of Tehran-Nicosia parliamentary cooperation as well as other issues of mutual interest were discussed in a meeting between the outgoing Cypriot Ambassador to Tehran Marios P. Ieronymides and Head of Iran-Cyprus Parliamentary Friendship Group Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht here Sunday.

Regarding the growing ties between the two countries in recent years, Nobakht expressed hope that mutual parliamentary cooperation would develop in the near future.

He underlined the key role parliamentary friendship groups play in developing bilateral relations and urged the two countries to enhance their parliamentary cooperation.

Ieronymides, for his part, described as very effective his mission to Iran and expressed hope that the two countries' relations would broaden in all fields in the future.
