ALMATY -- An Air Kazakhstan airbus carrying 180 people and heading for Frankfurt was forced to make an emergency landing in Almaty three hours after takeoff, emergency services reported Tuesday. The A-310 airbus took off Sunday from Almaty but was forced to make an emergency landing due to a fault in the aircraft's guidance system which prevented proper control of the jet's wings. Kazakhstan's Khabar News reported that the airbus was forced to circle for three hours to burn fuel before landing, and the incident was under investigation. Air Kazakhstan uses two Airbus A-310S, both of which have been flying for 16 years, Khabar reported.
