JERUSALEM An Israeli newspaper office was evacuated on Tuesday after it received two suspicious letters, one containing white powder, Israeli police said, raising concerns the cases of anthrax found in the U.S. may be spreading, the Reuters reported.

Hazardous materials experts rushed to the ***Maariv*** newspaper offices in Jerusalem to examine the contents of the letters and check the building, police said.

Israeli biological weapons experts are testing more than a dozen suspicious letters received in recent days as Israel becomes anxious that a bio-terrorism attack in the United States could spread to the Jewish state.
