TEHRAN -- On Monday Expediency Council Chairman Hojjatoleslam Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani stressed the role of border province citizens, especially West Azarbaijanis, during the eight-year imposed war.

Speaking in a meeting with members of the headquarters of the congress for commemorating martyr commanders of West Azarbaijan Province, Rafsanjani said that the path of the Islamic Revolutionary martyrs should be followed.

The EC Chairman praised martyr commander Mahdi Bakeri as a model of a revolutionary Muslim.

Members of the headquarters also explained its function during the meeting.
