KUALA LUMPUR Tehran rolled into the second round of goalball competitions of the 11th Asian Capitals' Disabled Sports Olympiad underway here.

In its third (last) clash in the preliminary round, the Tehrani goalball team defeated Kuala Lumpur 7-3 Tuesday.

Tehran as the leader of Group B table and the second-placed Kuala Lumpur booked berths in the next round.

Hossein Mohraz, Hassan Kaviani and Hamid Alidousti are the players of Iranian capital's team.

According to Reza Dehqan, coach of Tehrani goalball team, the second-round contests start today.

Based on new regulations, a goalball games is held in two 10-minute halves.

According to IRNA, Iran, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia and various states of Malaysia are competing in different sporting fields.

The Asian Olympiad is held in 15 fields and Tehran represents the country in goalball, sitting volleyball, track-and-field, table tennis, weightlifting, shooting, and athletics for the blind and women.

The official inauguration ceremony of the Olympiad is to be held today.
