cleric calls for strict measures to deal with agents behind corruption cases
In a meeting with the director general and staff of the the department for supervision over goods prices in the province, Hojjatoleslam Abbasali Soleimani said severe measures should be adopted in dealing with the agents behind the important cases of financial corruption, IRNA reported.
He called for effective measures to tackle financial corruption while adding that dealing with the problem through judicial means is effective enough.
He added that the social and economic offenses should be dealt with through legal means but the judicial ways could not solve many problems if employed alone.
Financial corruption would undermine the national economy and is very dangerous to social stability, he noted.
He went on to say that the transparency would contribute to the authority of the system and that is why it should be promoted in the economic activities, he explained.
He said that the supervision of the civil institutions and people over the activities of the economic sector would prevent financial corruption.
He stated that legal institutions and the rule of law would be jeopardized by financial corruption and hence it should be dealt with at different levels of the management in the economic sector.
He referred to the Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's call for a serious action against corruption.
The Leader said previously the anti-corruption measures must awake perpetrators to the consequences of the economic corruption so that they be aware that a serious punishment is awaiting the agents behind the financial offenses.
The Leader had called on the Judiciary as the protector of the public properties to supervise over the proper implementation of the anti-corruption laws and regulations to guarantee a healthy social and economic atmosphere.
Soleimani said all efforts should be mobilized to suppress any element and factor which could jeopardize the national economy.
