TEHRAN - The prices of paper products have gone up after the rise in prices of paper in international markets, a member of the Iranian Paper Union announced.

He predicted that the upward trend in prices could have undesirable consequences on final products.

Mr. Manjazbi also referred to the low speed with which machinery for making paper and boxes in the country function.

The current state of the local paper industry is such that it is difficult to compete with foreign ones, he said.
