SEMNAN -- A coach in the northern Iranian Province of Semnan Friday evening overturned killing three passengers, and injuring some 30 others.

The coach was riding on the Azadshahr-Shahroud Road when it veered off the highway, and landed on its side to claim the casualties.

The provincial police reported that some 20 of the injured have been discharged after receiving outpatient treatment, while the remaining 10 have been hospitalized for mainly bone fractures.

The police also blamed driver for his inability to control the speeding vehicle for the accident, IRNA reported.

Iran's roads are one of the deadliest in the world claiming an annual toll of 15,000 and about 87,000 injuries.
