LONDON -- Chelsea legend Ron 'Chopper' Harris has labeled Mark Bosnich as "overpaid and spoilt" and told the Australian his career is effectively over following his positive test for cocaine.

Bosnich is expected to be sacked by Chelsea and banned from football for at least a year after his positive test.

Harris said he did not believe Bosnich, 30, would be able to resurrect his career after a ban.

"For somebody that misses that long, it's going to be very difficult to get back into the swing of things. So I think his career is nonexistent. "It's like everything else -- when you play with fire, you should expect to get burned. if he has failed the test, then he has to suffer the consequences."

Harris has no sympathy for the fact that Bosnich has been receiving treatment for depression since his positive test was first revealed last month, AFP reported.

"Depression is when you can't afford to pay your mortgage. I'd like to be earning 40 grand a week and getting depressed," he added.

"Things have obviously changed over the years. These fellas can't afford to step out of line, they're like film stars, but I think a lot of them are overpaid, spoilt footballers."
