RIYADH -- Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal was to hold talks in Cairo on Tuesday as diplomatic activity intensifies to try to resolve the Iraqi crisis, Arab diplomats said Saturday.

"It's part of the framework of consultations underway on the situation in Iraq and the coordination of Saudi and Egyptian efforts," one diplomat said.

Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah met Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak here on January 14 and called for international efforts to be stepped up to avoid war.

Jordanian Prime Minister Ali abu Ragheb was to arrive in Saudi Arabia Saturday night for talks on Iraq and a Turkish call for a regional summit on the war threat, Amman's ambassador told AFP.
