TEHRAN - Written and directed by Ahmadreza Mo'tamedi, **One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest** is one the entries to the Competition Section of Iranian Cinema at Fajr Film Festival.

Graduated in philosophy and economics Mo'tamedi, 43, made The Fall and The Ugly and the Beautiful respectively in 1994 and 1998. He said about his latest film, "Unlike The Fall -- which was surrealistic and philosophical -- and The Ugly and the Beautiful -- which was philosophical-historical -- this film deals with contemporary social issues. It is like a suppressed pain in the heart, which suddenly explodes. I hope that I have found the right language to express it.

"Working with great Iranian actors in roles that were quite dissimilar with what they have portrayed so far, was a very valuable experience. A godfather, a Judas, an undefused mine and unfinished project and as always, there followed several years of patient work on rewriting the script and engaging in self-criticism, until I left the characters and incidents were truly unique."
