MP Urges Strong Reaction to Argentine Anti-Iran Court Ruling

TEHRAN -- MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi called the recent ruling by an Argentine court against Iranian diplomats as illegal, and called on the Foreign Ministry to take a firm stand on the issue.

Boroujerdi told IRNA that the Argentine Judiciary had issued the ruling under the pressure of the Zionists, stressing that Iran's foreign diplomacy must strongly protest against the ruling.

An Argentine court last Wednesday issued arrest warrants for eight Iranian diplomats for their alleged involvement in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish organization headquarters.

The MP said the Zionists had used their influence to raise this issue at Argentine courts for several times over the past years.

"The issue each time marred Tehran-Buenos Aires relations considering that the Islamic Republic was not at all connected to the incident," said Boroujerdi, who represents Boroujerd at Majlis. "Argentine officials are well aware

[about the issue] and have been informed for several times that Iranian diplomats were not at all connected to the incident, and that they only carry out their duties in accordance with international laws."
