TEHRAN -- Australian and Iranian culture officials have started negotiations on the organization of an exhibition of Iranian artifacts in Australia, the director of National Museum of Iran said here on Monday.
“We have not reached an agreement on the type and condition of the exhibition yet,” Mohammadreza Kargar added.
He noted that such event will turn out to be attractive in view of the two countries’ far distance and will draw Australian tourists to Iran.
According to Kargar, “The Glory of Persia” exhibition which is touring Japan is one of the choices to be discussed.
“The Glory of Persia” features 210 artifacts dating from the 5th millennium BC to the end of the Sassanid era (226–651 CE) from the National Museum of Iran, Reza Abbasi Museum, and Azarbaijan and Persepolis museums.
“However, we have to closely study the host country’s security and facilities to hold exhibitions before coming to any agreement,” Kargar stated.
