At the closing ceremony of the fourth joint commission meeting, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation was signed by Iran's Cooperatives Minister Mohammad Abbasi and Kenyan Foreign Minister Raphael Tuju.

Speaking to domestic and foreign media on the sidelines of the closing ceremony, Abbasi said that joint committees on industry, trade, energy, banking and finances, economy, coordination, agriculture and fishery, transport, communications, health and training will be established by the two countries.

"Meanwhile, agreements were reached on rendering technical and engineering consulting services to establish pharmaceutical and food production and injection units as well as leather and wood processing companies.

For his part, Tuju referred to Kenya's import of tractor from Brazil and hoped that Iran's investment in new projects in his country, particularly those in tractor manufacturing assembly line and other agricultural equipment will provide the grounds for development of cooperation between the two countries in agriculture and trade.
