Quranic culture should rule society: Leader

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said here Thursday that Quranic culture should rule the Iranian society.
""A good and competent reciter of Holy Quran is verily worth being endeared and appreciated but it should serve as a means for prevalence of Quranic culture among the community members,"" said Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution in an address to a group of top and exemplary Holy Quran reciters and instructors on the first day of the lunar fasting month of Ramadhan starting on Thursday.Lauding growing success of the Iranian reciters of Holy Quran, Ayatollah Khamenei called on the audience to ponder on Quranic concepts and consider themselves the addressees of the divine book which serves as a guidance to prosperity and salvation of mankind.
The Paramount Leader also called for fine and logical translation of the holy book so that all the readers would have a profound and well understanding of its verses and injunctions.
Ayatollah Khamenei said recites of the holy book too should recite it in a fine and appropriate manner with logical pauses, stresses and intonation so that the listener would enjoy listening and appreciating it.
""Reciters should recite Quran in a way as if the Quranic concepts are inspired on the hearts and souls of the listeners. The reciters’ intention would hence be influencing the audience not revoking their appreciation.""
Ayatollah Khamenei said people should be in constant communion with Holy Quran and they should recite its verses on a daily and regular basis.
The Ayatollah also called on the youth and young adults to try to memorize Quranic verses and ponder on their concepts
