ATF chief hopes to see Iranians in Wimbledon

TEHRAN -- The president of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) says Iranian tennis players have the potential to participate in Wimbledon.

Speaking at Iran’s Olympic Academy on Saturday, Anil Khanna stated, “Iran has a long-term program for tennis. I believe the Iranian men and women tennis players have the potential to take part in the prestigious Wimbledon Tennis Tournament by 2012.”
“I am so glad to see that Iran’s tennis federation has started to support the youth. I praise Iranian officials for this. I wish them all the best, and I promise to help them,” ATF chief said.
“The country has the potential to have a better position in tennis. Iran has to have at least three tennis players in the world rankings,” Khanna stated
