TEHRAN - Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Mohammad Khazaii, has asked the UN to condemn the burning of Quran in a church in Florida and investigate the issue seriously.

In his letter to Ban Ki-moon released on Friday, Khazaii expressed deep regret over “open desecration” to the holy book of Muslim and saying, “We want you as the secretary general of the United Nations to react to this desecration which has hurt the feelings of more than one billion Muslims.”
Khazaii added such extremist actions should not be given legal protection.
In his letter which was also sent to the OIC president and the OIC members the Iranian ambassador insisted it is the duty of all to condemn such sacrilegious moves against divine religions especially Islam
